non religious blessing lanzarote wedding
weddings in lanzarote When love is not madness, it is not love.

Humanist weddings are increasing in number each year. They are popular with people who have no religious affiliations, but who want to enter into a publicly committed marital relationship. Humanists aim to draw positive moral values from life that are based on human experience, rather than God-given. They don't believe in an afterlife, but think that: 'we should try to live full and happy lives ourselves... and make it easier for other people to do the same.’

This ceremony is taken by an English Celebrant, it’s the most flexible option and can still include religious references if required.  The civil marriage would have to take place in your country of residence  prior to the ceremony. The Humanist Blessing cannot take place in a church, however there is a privately owned Chapel in the marina at Playa Blanca which can be hired. The Bride and Groom can write their own vows for this ceremony, within reason, and we can provide an example ceremony format.

All ceremonies include the signing of a register (non legally binding) and couples will receive a certificate stating the date and place of their celebration in Lanzarote.

In order to have a Blessing ceremony the couple need to have been married in their country of residence and have their marriage certificate.

With a Blessing there are numerous locations to have the ceremony, such as on a beach which is a favourite for couples when marrying abroad. It offers something different and unique for the happy couple and their wedding party.

We can offer the perfect beach wedding, with a style or theme to suit you. Be it traditional dress, or modern casual, the beach location is suitable for all. We can also cater for large seated parties. And the photo album is unforgettable!

You could also have the ceremony in the same location as the Reception

Writing your own vows is becoming increasingly popular and with a blessing there is increasingly more scope for brides and grooms to personalise their vows at weddings.

The most successful way to write personalised vows is to think about the two of you and the things you would like to promise each other.

Remember that your vows are a public declaration of your commitment to each other. The words should be created for others to witness and not just as a private conversation between you and your partner.
